Ingredients:
2
cups water
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoon of Sugar ( add to taste, less or more)
1-1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese
1 cup of melted butter
Procedure:
Bring the water and salt/sugar to a boil in a small saucepan. Add
the cornmeal. Reduce the heat to low and cook, stirring constantly add the melted butter, for 3 to 5
minutes, until thickened. Remove the pot from the heat and add the grated
cheese. Then Let the mixture cool a little.
Immediately, take spoonfuls of the mixture
and form balls in the palm of your hands. Press them to form like small cigars
of about 3 inches long.
Repeat with the remaining dough, until dough is gone.
Heat the oil in a
skillet until hot but not smoking and fry until golden brown on all sides. Fry
them in plenty of vegetable oil at 375 F. Take them out when they’re golden and
place them onto paper towels to drain the excess oil.
You can company these with a MayoKetchup Sauce
2
tbsp of Mayonnaise
2 tbsp. of Ketchup
1 tsp. of Lemon ( Or Hot sauce if Preferred)
1 tsp. of Garlic
Procedure:
In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients together and ready to serve! Yummer!
